Aditya Chopra, born on May 21, 1971, is a renowned filmmaker and director who predominantly works in the Hindi film industry. Currently, he is the Chairman of the multi-national film, entertainment, and media conglomerate Yash Raj Films (YRF), founded by his father and late veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra. He began his filmmaking career as an assistant director, working alongside his father on the 1989 hit ‘Chandni’, when he was just 18. Subsequently, at the age of 23, he directed and wrote the screenplay for the evergreen blockbuster ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ (1995) starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. Notably, Chopra's debut directorial also bagged the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. He also wrote the story and dialogues for his father's 1997 film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, which bagged three National Film Awards. Also, Chopra's second directorial, ‘Mohabbatein’ (2000), helped launch his brother Uday Chopra into Bollywood. Some of the notable movies he has produced include ‘Hum Tum’, the ‘Dhoom’ series, ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Fanaa’, ‘Chak De! India’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Sultan’, and ‘War’, among others.
